Wheel Throwing and Slip Decoration Workshop

In this introductory workshop learn how to use the potter’s wheel and slip decoration techniques.


  • Introduction to wheel throwing and slip decoration techniques: 12 hour workshop divided into 4 sessions of 3 hours each.
  • You will be learn the techniques of wheel throwing and slip decoration. Discover how relaxing and rewarding the contact with clay is. Enjoy both the creation process and the final product: your handmade pieces, decorated by you!

The  wheel throwing and slip decoration workshop is ideal for your first contact with the potter’s wheel. After the class, you will be able to use these techniques independently and continue moving towards more complex forms in our continuous wheel throwing course.

  • 12 hour workshop: 4 sessions of 3hours/day:

    • Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 h

    Choose between de following dates:

    • January 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th
    • April 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th
    • June 6th, 7th, 13th and 14th

How are we going to work:

You will work with the electric wheel


  • First you will learn to knead the clay, center, create the pieces: cylinders, bowls and plates
  • Then you will learn to trim your pieces and put handles, feet, etc.
  • The last day of the course will be dedicated to decorating them with different techniques: brush, sponge, esgrafiado, masking, etc.

Note that:

  • No previous experience is necessary
  • The classes are comprised of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 7 people to ensure a personalized service
  • We put at your disposal all the materials and tools that your creative process may need, this also includes work clothes
  • If requested, we also offer the course as an individual class (ask for price and availability)
  • If, at the end of this course you decide for one of our continuous classes or for the open studio modality, you won’t have to pay the enrollment fee
