4 hours Workshop

Mocha Diffusion and Bubble Decoration Workshop

Teacher Evan Powell

Mocha Diffusion and Bubble Decoration Workshop: 4-hours divided into 2 sessions of 2 hours each.

Mocha diffusion and bubble decoration workshop will give you a blast of enthusiast by being able to create, surprisingly easily, some really outstanding tableware pieces.
It is a very rewarding experience as the versatility of the clay allows you to obtain fast results and to make the most of the techniques you decide to use for building your pieces.
Once your greenware has the proper thickness and consistency, we will pass to the next step: decoration and finishing.

Mocha Diffusion and Bubble Decoration workshop:

Mocha diffusion is a little-known technique of ceramic surface decoration developed and used in the southwest of England. Through a reaction between acid and alkali, intricate veined patterns reminiscent of trees or ferns are created in this process. Pottery with mocha diffusion decoration is also referred to as “mochaware”.

Bubble decoration technique is really fun, the multicolored soap bubbles will call to life our inner child while the added ceramic pigments and oxides will leave a permanent and aesthetically beautiful reminder in our pieces of this playful moment.

We are very proud of our students creations. Visit our Instagram and Facebook pages to see what they’re up to!
